Kitchen-Marshall Super PA

Any idea of the worth of a '70's model? Owner claims '74 but PTP?

I'm guessing those trannies are replacements?

Yes, trannys are replaced.

Technically it's PA, not Super PA since only 50 watts. Pretty clean overall, but the transformers devalue it quite a bit. Kitchen-Marshall gear is rare, so a collector might pay a premium for this amp. I'm not really sure how to value it, to be honest. I wouldn't take less than $1,800 USD for it personally. But it might fetch more.

Thanks George,

I have been looking for info on these, and not much out there. Is the PTP wiring correct for a '74? I know they stopped in '73 sometime, but different for Kitchen?

I know the "Marshall" book says Kitchen was made up until '72?

It also lists the 50w Marshall as a "Super PA", it calls the 50w "PA" model as a standard 4 input, Super PA 8 input.

Actually, it is a SUPER P.A. 50w, model type 1963. As George pointed out, the replaced transformers are a real value killer when it comes to re-sale. The amp does appear to be a '74 dispite a ptp board being present....The chassis alone tells me it's a 1973 or later. Super PA (both 50w and 100w) amps tend to be built with odd parts compared to other model 100w and 50w amps of the same time frame.

Ah, right. I forgot it WAS Super PA. Thanks for clarifying.

I get so used to making this distinction when people email me asking if I can build a "50W Superbass" and so on that I overlooked this.

Thanks all! What would be the correct transformers, or a correct sub?

Is it worth even trying to buy, or just put the cash towards a real plexi?

1202 164 pt a 784 139 ot. Both drakes. As for the turret board on a pa. I don't think the pa models ever changed to printed boards. The printed boards would have bad to have been made special for the extra circuit. So they stayed turret board to the end I believe(someone correct me if I'm wrong). In any case I would hunt for some original iron for that amp. Would greatly increase its value. Super sweet

When it comes to the 8 hole Super PA amps, you will occasionally since turretboard used on 1975 serial numbers too, albeit very early ones.
