JMP 2203 vs 2203x presence layout difference?

Noticed my 2203 jmp got classic pot first pin and cable + resistor to ground middle to third connected with cap to ground.

2203x got Cable + resistor to ground and cap connected to pin one.
Middle and third connected to ground.

Did a conversion to jmp style and I Can swear its less sterile at higher settings.

Any comments on what the difference is ?
They should be the same according to marshall.
