Here's the skinny on the big blue and white cap on the end of the board. It is wired to the center of the polarity switch and the other end to ground on the board stud. One end of the polarity switch is connected directly to the mains. The other end is connected to the neutral, through the on/off switch.
So one position it is connected to the positive and the other to the neutral. It is the Death Cap.

So would disconnecting it be ok????????? What is the process?? Is a snubber a death cap??? I want to know

Would 1/.47uf take the place of 2/.22uf???? For what Neil has said??? Max is the cap on your board a .47 as well??

Cut the red wire going to the center of the polarity switch and secure the wire out of the way. You can remove the cap if you like but I prefer to leave it in to keep it original. I just cut the wire on mine and it's fine.

Put a 3 prong ac cord in yours if it doesn't have one already. :wink:

K. It had a 3 prong already. So I cut the red wire to the standby. K thanks.

Not the standby switch, the polarity switch! :!:
It's red in my amp but make sure that it's the one that goes over to that cap.
