While installing heater wire on jtm50 clone I am building, I noticed the wire is different from the last batch I purchased, all came from Metro,it is bigger inside diameter, and found it hard to get thru the eyelets of the 9 pin socket tabs, its the same gauge I used on all other builds, never had this problem, anybody else dealt with this? not trying to stir any contraversity,just curious. perhaps George has changed supplier since I last purcased wire.

I noticed that too, it also not as stiff so it does not twist as tightly Maybe George can go back to the original stuff, much better in my opinion.

The last wire I got from George in a JTM kit was the best stuff I've ever used.
It was a couple months ago, and it's stranded wire, but seems to be pre-tinned. I love the way it holds it's shape when you twist it, not sure if this is the wire you're talking about, or if it's changed again, cause this stuff was different than what he had before.

Thats just what I am seeing,it wont twist as tight and comes apart when twisted, the other wire in the order, has been great,its stiff and almost looks pre tinned, its great,alot better to work with than the straight stranded type. but I guess he has to get whats available.

Okay, so I am not loosing my mind. I noticed this too on my current JTM 45 build that I am doing.

I dont know white room? I lost my mind and still noticed the thing with the wire! never jump to conclusions, LOL, bluze

I just noticed it with my last wire order for "heater" wire only, got it about a month or so ago. I still have a full wire kit that is at least a year or more old plus several feet of pink wire. I guess I will have to pull out the good stuff from the wiring kit for my next project
