David Ryan Harris and his Metroamp '67 100 Watt

Post by VelvetGeorge » Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:48 pm

Here are a few shots from John Mayer's sound check. David Ryan Harris is playing his Metroamp '67 replica 100 watt. The 2-12 cab is one of John's Two Rock 2-12 open back.

John's rig has a Dumble and (2) Two Rock heads, each driving a 2-12 cab. Plus a fairly elaborate switching system.

Cool to see your P2P amp holding up under the tour grind. I just looked up the dates, they're playing almost nightly. Thats a lot of setups/tear downs. And some brutal drives too, I saw the one from Lexington KY to MA... they get to skip a day for that one

So is that thing just the straight up off the rack job, or did you mod it a little?

Edit: I just looked him (Harris) up... he's bouncing all over the place, busy guy... Congrats George, you build good stuff.

George, after really living with the '72 SL you rebuild for me, I would take that '67 Metro over the Dumble!!!!!! Your builds are the Trainwrecks of tommorow!@!

I loved David Ryan Harris's cd from 1997, with the song "King Karma". Is he in Mayer's band? Not to knock Mayer, but Harris is a much better singer/songwriter and musician. I think its great that he's playing a Metropoulos !

Metroamp on Letterman???

Post by miguel » Fri Mar 02, 2007 1:59 pm

Anybody catch John Mayer + band on Letterman last night?

Didn't record it, and couldn't get a good look to see if the Metro '67 was in the backline.

JM sounded pretty good on the outro solo, IMO.
