50 Watt Metro Kit To Be Ordered Next Week!!!!

HI Guys,

It has been a long time coming and a lot of ooing and ahhing but im order the 50 watt kit next week

Just want to be sure it what i want, i love the clasic vintage tones of page and hendrix but also like to play slash type stuff too.

What do you think?

forgot to say, 100watt or 50watt for what i want?

Il be running an attenuator so volume isn't an issue

Common question!

A stock Metro 100watt kit (Model 1959 spec) or a stock 50watt kit (Model 1987 spec ) will both get you there for those tones. The 50watt has two less output valves to buy and compresses a little earlier, maybe browns out a little earlier, volumes are not much different.

If you are really picky about your specific tones (ie early Hendrix you will need a JTM45/100 or EVH a 12 series JMP100) but for a good usable Marshall rock tone which can be tweaked to get close to your references either amp will work.

Don't forget speakers. Best new ones are probably Scumbacks from Southbay if you are in the USA. I have his 55Hz G12H type which is very good. You could run a pair of his 65watt versions with a 50watter or a quad with a 100watter.
