Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and new to amp-building and tweaking as well.
A bit about myself: I've been been playing guitar since I was 12 (I'm 30 now) and I was really motivated to play by the sounds of 80's rock and metal (GNR, Metallica, and even some of the grunge movement in the early 90s). As I learned more (and my ears and tastes matured) I obviously traveled backwards to the real roots of my likes and dislikes, becoming an avid listener of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Clapton, you name them. By high school I was in a jazz and blues band ensemble (with the whole brass section and all) as well as the typical rock band.
I've kept playing, albeit at a personal level only (no real gigs or such), but I'd never really ventured outside of my means ($$) to find the tones that I've always loved (Hendrix, Page, Slash, etc.) until recently motivated by a friend and (now) fellow amp molester like the rest of you. My scholastic background in an BS in Aerospace Engineering and a MS in Systems Engineering, so I'm not typically afraid of circuit diagrams, calculations, or anything physics-based really. But that doesn't mean that I know anything really about amps and how they work. That's what got me hooked.
I've built my first amp now, a 100W Super Lead and I share these photos for other newbies and junkies alike. I've already departed from the standard build slightly by adding the Lar/Mar PPIMV as well as SDM's (thanks Steve) 1959-2203 switchable preamp. It will not be my last mod or by far my last amp.
For anyone wondering about whether or not to build an amp from George, do it. I did my research, these guys are second to none as far as I could find.

Thanks much. I've learned a ton and you're right, this is definitely the place to learn. Best forum out there as far as I've seen.
