2205 combo rebuild

Post by sdmf70 » Mon Nov 27, 2006 5:28 pm

I have a 2205 800 split channel combo. Somebody tried to make this amp
point to point and ripped out the mainboard! What can I do to get this amp
back to or close to stock? You would not believe the mess inside this amp!
 Any help would be great. Thanks guys!

You could make it point to point, but it wouldn't be exactly like it was. It would be a real pain in the ass Ditch the diode clipping and you can have two separate channels - one JCM 800 and the other - a clean channel with separate eq (off the plate) via one tube. You'd have to design the board and relay switching scheme. I just did something similar - a hot rodded 800 with a clean channel (same eq, though).
Here's the original schematic http://www.drtube.com/schematics/marshall/2205prem.gif
Use the clean channel from this amp (the bottom channel)

Hope that helps some... James
