Anyone removed a metro plexi panel once it hs been stuck in place ?
Without damage ?

I want to replace the panel with one from Ceriatone but don't want to destroy it.
It seems flexible enough but it is stuck pretty good.
I may re use it later.

I have used a product called "Goo Gone" which is sort of a solvent for removing adhesive substances. I've never tried it on a panel. Seems to me the tricky part would be getting started at the end of the panel. Once you've got it started it should be easier. Trying to get some solvent behind the panel with a syringe might work (but most people don't have syringes). A nice thin trowel might help also. I've used it to remove stickers and glue residue. Unfortunately you risk damaging the panel no matter what you try. Good luck.

I would use heat. I'd take a heat gun and warm the chassis from the inside then slowly heat one end and work slowly across the chassis.

But honestly I wouldn't do it all. More trouble then it could be worth. Plus make absolutely sure everything lines up first many report they don''t.

Hi have not stuck the last couple of amps, just relied on the pots and switches, that is how the originals were. My metro 50watter is now disclouring where the adhesive was so I will need to replace

Managed to get it off ok. The adhesive tape stayed on the chassis and was easy to remove. Got a JMP panel from Nik - from you know where - and it lines up really well. The pots and switches EXACT. The inputs very slightly out and after altering the holes slightly on the panel were fine. The black face washer on the cliff jacks covers up the slightly moved holes in the panel. The globe hole is imo just a bit too large - but lines up perfectly. The panel also fits the overall length & height of the chassis perfectly. The gold colour is lighter than the Metro version. The JMP logo on the left is very close to the cabinet front panel opening edge but is fine.
All in all - very happy. The quality of the panel is every bit as good as the metro (perfect) but is made of a slightly thicker material. No adhesive on this one.
Pics will follow shortly - just starting a JTM50 build and will take pics of them all when done.

I need to remove the back plexi panel from my Marshall 1959HW amp.
So how did you remove your plexi panel? And was it OK after you removed it and reusable?

I agree. My panels came from Ceriatone, and have no adhesive. The pots/jacks & switches hold them in place just fine.
