Max power consumption of 50watt head - what is it?

I have a UK issue 1969 50watt head, that in its lifetime has had the power transformer replaced.
When the work was done the voltage selector was not wired into the circuit, so right now it's locked at 240VAC only.
I now live in Canada which has a 110 mains voltage, so i'm using a step up converter. I own several of these, and they come in two capacities - one is rated for 100W the other for 300W.
I've been using the 300W unit with my amp for safety since it's pretty sure to give me plenty of headroom, but it's annoyingly large and heavy so I'd like to swap out to using the 100W unit.
What I don't know is, what is the peak power consumption of a 50watt head at full tilt? Will I have enough headroom with the 100W converter?
Anybody have a definitive measurement they could share?
Thanks
Sean
