Thanks Steve I will clip the jumper ,already changed the 27k resistor to 220k, and the lamp is defintly 6v but one of the leads got pulled out at one point and I just stuck it back in ,could be an internal contact problem there, will do some checking on the lamp itself, thanks, will post after I clip the jumper and retest the amp, great help, bluze

50w build fired right up and it sounds great! did a quick bias and no problems,the only thing I need to do is elevate the board a bit it sits to low in chassis and diodes almost touch the output mount bolts,easy fix, I have some old tubes in it just to test with when I get it all set I have some nos Mullard xf2 and mullard preamp tubes but it sounds killer as it is with jj el34 and chinese gt 12ax7 hmm? a big thanks to everyone who helped me and put up with my questions,one of these days I wll get something to record some soundclips and post on the forum, thanks bluze
