Sheilded cable locations

Hi all....I have been lerking at the sidelines for a while now and have started populating a board for a 2204. I have been looking at alot of pictures whenever I can and it seems to me that many folks don't use sheilded cable from the hi input to V1 or the various pathways from the low input to the pre-amp volume. I wonder if I am just not seeing things right or do you not need the sheilded cable? Billy's layout seems not to have it, but other designs out there do. What would you recommend?

A vote here FOR shielded wire on the inputs.

You can just get the stuff George has in the store, I think. I don't even know the size of what I used for mine...already had it lying around...it's 2-conductor shielded..20 or 22awg...I think teflon-coated.
