I got some canare cable and 1/4 jacks and made two 20 foot guitar cables have been using them for so many years I not shure how long ago I made them, they are good cables no noise when you stomp on them.

Mark, I use Lava Cables which use Canare cable with Neutrik ends. I have to say they are the best cables that I have bought in a long time. I'm talk Whirlwind cable era. I would stack them up against the Monster studio cables and they are way less of a burden on your wallet as well.
The only other cables I use are George L's and those are just used for super short patch cables between my pedals.
