Well, if the Blackie copy is built to the same standards as the Rory Gallagher strat, it'll be frickin awesome. Worth the money? No, definitely not IMO. However, the RG strat was so good, even Peter Green traded in his custom shop for one. Besides, in theory, it wont play that much differently from a normal EC signature series as that was supposed to be modelled after Blackie in the first place?

Not to offend anyone, but IMO, the resason that this guitar shouldnt sell is that it is flat out ugly...

The Clapton 335 really did look nice and felt like an instrument that has substance to it, not like what this thing looks to feel like...

Maybe I just dont like strats, but come on guys, $20k for something that looks beat up and ragged (and bolts to together, no less)!?!

Of course if I were rich with money hangin out my ass, then I would, no doubt, get the thing, but it would never be the first one on my list (or even the 67th).

Well, at that price, its got to be aimed at guys who saw Clapton with Blackie and now that they are rich bankers, they can afford a nostalgic waltz through their old days. No doubt many will go to people who will dust it off every now and then to play a bad version of Layla through some Squire practice amp but hey, thats capitallism isnt it?

You lot are getting it cheap though, over in the uk, its about

don't get it?
1) the original was on the verge of being 'unplayable' due to the two 'e' strings falling off the edges at the top end of the neck.this is why they built the 'clapton sig strats' in the first place to replace 'blackie' with a usable guitar!! the replica replicates this worn out feature....

2) if you buy one, play it and scratch it,then go to sell it,it's no longer a replica! (my brain hurts now) so who would spend $$$$$ or
