Is there any reason why the OPT in a superlead couldn't be mounted towards the other end of the chassis to balance the weight better?

One thing I did that helped was to mount the handle on top of the head cab closer to the front to help equalize the weight better.......

Sound City, HiWatt, and even 900- and 2000- series Marshalls are done that way.......HiWatt chassis shots should give you plenty of material for laying it out properly.

I'll have to see if the wires on my trannys are long enough to run the length of the chassis like hiwatts. I assume there's no other noise issues or problems with this differnt wiring rout for the OPT? or did hiwatt do extra shielding or take extra steps to deal with the location?

I've not looked in depth into HiWatt wiring yet, although I'd like to build a clone sometime. But they were neat, clean and bulletproof so they are going to be a good guide if you can find detailed pics.

Was it Mark Huss that built a HiWatt clone and had a web page detailing it I think? Might search for that and see if it had layouts........
