Any body know what the tone differance would be between a radio spares and 784 103 output transformer

The RS is a little cleaner with better clean tones and slightly more linear when you use KT66s and the recommended 8k primary impedence. If you use the 6k6 taps it is a bit more lively. I seem to remember that a member here did a build where they put a DPDT switch on the chassis between the output tubes so that he could switch between the two.
The -103 is altogether more rocky in tone and a bit dirtier, closer the the more traditional Marshall grind we are used to.
Whose OTs are you thinking of? I have a Metro speeced Heyboer -103 in one amp and a 60's RS in the other (not finished yet!) although I have repaired/restored and played other original JTM45s with both types. They are just different takes on the same sort of thing which is why I want one of each
