Drake 1202-132 has 2.2k primary impedance...

Post by Ralle » Tue Dec 04, 2012 1:01 pm

According to a moderator at the Marshall Road House forum... It makes kinda sence... I allways thought that 1202-132 has a bit more gain than the c1998...
But ( if my memory servs me right ) Chris M***** says the Drake 1202-132 has 1.75k... Wich one of those guys are correct?

Obviously Chris Mxyz has confused the Drake 1202-132 with the Drake 1201-99 ???

I can't tell, what primary impedance the 1202-132 does have, because I haven't measured one of those yet.
But I definitely can tell, that the 1201-99 (supposed to use w/ 4 * EL34's) does have a primary impedance of 1.75k

... and KT66's (like also 6L6's) need a higher primary impedance, than EL34's
2.2...2.4k primary impedance is the correct ballpark for 4 * KT66
