Crazy question.... but I can't stop thinking about it...
Is it possible to play a 100w amp with a 50W OT... with all four tubes in? Could I put in an OT like that, having a B+ at 480v?

The answer would really depend on how the OT is rated to be honest. So there is no hard fast Yes/No response.

The voltage is important but most critical is the primary impedance and the diameter of the wire windings from the secondary. For example if you have an 50W OT with primary impedance of 3600 ohm , it should be possible to use in amplifier with 4 x 6L6 GC power tube . Like Joey said , are some parameters which should be followed , and in this case the diameter of the secondary windings are so important.
So , maybe will working (will not blow up) but i'm sure that you don't want to hear what kind of sound will produce one this kind of tranny , used in this configuration .
