Trannies for a Bad Cat Clone

Post by 72fetter » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:06 pm

So I am a very much novice amp builder and I am having a helluva time finding a cost effective tranny set for my Ceriatone Stray Cat 30 build. I have found a company (TDS) that is great and decently priced but unfortunately decently priced isnt in my budget.
The design is based off the Badcat Hot Cat 30. I would greatly appreciate some help in sourcing a cost efficient set of trannies and a choke from hammond or the like. here is a link to the layout. http://ceriatone.com/images/layoutPic/m ... iatone.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

thanks in advance guys

Well the power tx specs are all in the layout.

For the output tx I would get something capable of handling 50W and with a primary impedance of 3k4 to 4k5. That should get you in the ballpark.

Cheers Stephan

I have my kit is from ceriatone. I opted out of the trannies as the price was great but shipping would make it the same as buying tds trannies. Still lookin to see if a Hammond tranny would work but am confused by the specs on the transformers page. I dont know how to tell which ones would work
