DSL401 problem, again :(

Post by Colex » Sun Sep 05, 2010 8:27 am

The PT in my friend's DSL401 broke down and I took it to rewinding, but since the rewinding bloke said the PT was so damaged he made a new toroidal one in AC30 style. 280V, 6.3, 6.3
Now I'm worried that it wont work in the DSL because (I think) the amp has a special tap for the switching, fx loop and reverb... which is around 20 volts. I'm not sure though. Can somebody check that for me?
I've already emailed drake, hopefully monday I'll get an answer.

Cheers! :)

Confirmed, HT winding is 310Volts, Heater winding is 6.5 Volts and the LT is 23.6Volts.

Mine has a 280V tap. What should be the differences in sound?

Also, I have a 27.5V transformer, could I un-wind it a bit so that it gives 23.6?
