DET-4145D Power Transformer

Post by beaulieu » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:30 pm

Anyone familar with this PT? I saw one in a 1969 SuperLead and I also saw one in a 1988 2555 I currently own. They both seem to be the original PT and if I were to suspect one was changed Id have to say the 69 was. Would anyone know if this PT was used in 69 and could the PT in the 2555 be the same exact PT that was used in 69? Thanks

The 69 is not original. The DET label was something that came later on, the early Dagnalls would have just a T in front of the numbers.

Mark, i don't think it is...Not a guru by any means, but I have 2 - 79' JMP2203s and both have a T 4074 with a label on them ..the label is also stamped DE. Also, I've had more a than a couple of mid 80s JCM800s from the horizontal era that had that same tranny with the red stamped DET-4145D on them. They seemed to produce healthy voltages though.

The Drake DET-4145 started showing up in Super Leads as early as 1971.
I have one that I pulled from a 72. A Good PT.

thanks guys. in my 78 i have a T 4074 PT so it was curious as to why this 78 had a different PT.
maybe it has to do with the heads that were 6550 and el34's?
