Post by jockman » Sat Jul 21, 2007 2:05 pm

Just got myself an old valve PA amp on evilbay, it has a pair of HUGE C-core transformers, i have no idea what they are, are they a good thing, ok thing?, bad thing?

Thanks in advance.

If I got opportunity to wire my OT on C-core transformer instead of E-core, I would select C core.

They are really large :D How that amp sounds?

C-cores differ in frequency range. In my country we differentiate C-cores between them by colors, and each color got specific frequency range. Moreover C cores got larger magnetic flux saturation.
