Marstran 784-139 output transf,

Just ordered me a Marstran 784-139 clone transformer for a Metro 50 watter I am building, I have a Marstran output in my 45 and it is sweet! so I am exited about this build, going with a 475v b+ Mercury Magnetics power tranny, and have a MM hc10 choke will use sozo standard caps,all in Georges steel chassis, this should be a good sounding amp, I sold my 50watt Marshall a while back and really regret it so gotsta build a better one! bluze

We need pics lots of them.Did you get a Amp cab yet?
I want to build a 100 watter so bad my teeth hurt..

I have one of these in my Metro build, it's really sweet.
The whole thing has a more Plexi sound than a JTM45 IMO. I find I need to boost my 45 to get it to rock out, great for blues tho'.
I used mustards/metro PT (425v B+) and metro 7H choke 32uF filtering and split cathode 820/0.68 820/330. I should stop rabbiting about and post pics (need camera).

Hey darrell,I have Ray Domalski building me a smallbox cab, for my45,hes doing it like the early models called a sandwich front panel,with a old stock matierial kinda like pinstripe and half tolex on the front panel with a brass trim seperateing the two, [my spelling is awfull] hope you can get a 100w started soon? I found the 100w build less complicated and roomy to work on, bluze

Tell us how it sounds once you get her all put together. I'm planning on going for the Marstran once I start my 50 watter build (man I hate being a poor college student
).

Man, that sounds sweet! You need to post some pics of that head box when Ray finishes it

well july 25th still dont have the head cabinet from Ray but I know he is working on it, I have been dragging my chassis bare to my gigs,so worried that I am going to break something like this but it sounds so good I just take my chances transporting it witout a cab, hopefully he will have it done soon,I will post pictures as soon as I get it! thanks Steve
