Hey Brian,

Have you tried those lams I sent you from linton and hurst yet??

I woud be most interested to see how those pan out...considering they are the exact same spec as the original material used 30 yrs ago...

I sent you enough for a few mains and outputs...

Later

James

p.s. If anyone wants any of this stuff just email me...i have a very good source for it.

Voxes? Are you going to start stocking some Vox-related iron too?

I heard Merc makes one that they HATE fulfilling orders for because it takes about 2-3 hours to wind by hand. The guys supposedly HATE doing them but sounds incredible.

BTW George...will you be able to work out a deal for that one on ebay that you didn't meet the reserve on? I was going to bid until I saw it was you, then decided it would be going to a much better home.

What I've learned is that a winding machine can typically do up to 4 interleaves. The De-Luxe uses more and requires a retool right in the middle of the wind.

Also, the core is stacked with lams 10 in each direction. I don't think the machines stack those either.

I contacted the seller for the one on Ebay. But he said he was going to relist after summer. I'll keep looking....

I don't plan on making an AC30 kit or anything. But this OT could open the door for stocking some Vox iron.

I believe Greg Germino knows a hell of a lot more about amps than I ever will, but it scares me to mismatch impedence ... especially on an old amp.

yes, but the original BB combos mismatched as well: 8ohm load and the OT wired for 16 ohms.

with this misload a jtm45 sound much more like a jtm50. more mids and more distortion.
