Re: The Best Transformers for JTM45
So you advise me a Marstran.
however, seem very well made IGPW.
p.s.
transformers that use the Metroloulos GPM45?
where can I find the 'complete list of all capacitors and resistors of the Metropoulos GPM45?

Re: The Best Transformers for JTM45
I've bought 50w and JTM-45 transformers from IGPW. The build pics on his site and the exterior quality, perfection of the laminations, etc. all is really spectacular. I can't imagine that this might be a bad choice, especially if you're in Europe. G. Germino used to import IGPW transformers (at that point it was called Shinrock) until it got too expensive to import. He must have had his reasons for importing them as there were quite a few alternatives in the US at that point already. I haven't built the amps with them yet, so no first hand experience on sound. I know his 18w OT is praised as the best of the best by the 18watt forum guys who have done extensive shootouts.
There's quite a bit of hype around M e r r e n OT's (no idea if it's only internet mythology, but owners of his OT's seem to be extremely happy with his products) and many folks from this forum use Marstran and i've seen only very positive comments on these too. Seems like all are good options. If money is no object you'd probably have to buy a couple, compare and sell the one you liked the least, as everyone is looking for something slightly different. In case you're in Europe and money is a consideration, then IGPW is probably the best choice from this side of the pond.

As Vintage Charly said (regarding the shipping costs & custom fees):
if you are located in Europe, buy the IGPW.
If you are located in the U.S.A., then buy the MARSTRAN.
Both have a very fair pricing, sound very authentic and show an outstanding built- quality (I've used both transformers).
Regards
Robert
