George,
I've obtained more knowledge of guitar amps here then anywhere else.I went from some guy that went to a music store having no real idea what I was looking for to being able to actually build an amp with the tone I had in my head(well pretty close anyways).I have you and everyone on this forum to thank for that. It's time to put yourself and your family first. When it's all said and done that's all you really have.

I just heard the sad news and sad news it is. I can't thank George and metro enough for all their help with the wonderful amps. I think it is good you keep as much going as you can as it is easier to pickup from cords, covers and a web site than from nothing. I hope your turn around happens soon too.

wow, I'm really sorry to hear this George - your kits are amazing. My own 100w high gainer was built in/around the JTM45/100 kit I bought and its a screamer.

family must come first though and I'm sure you'll get this up and running again once things settle down in the future.

George,

I am very sorry to hear that you are going thru all of this and you will be in my prayers. Family issues, the economy, etc...cna really do a number on someone and sometimes you just have to streamline, simplify, and focus on endeavors that are productive and healthy for you, even if you would like to still pursue those other endeavors. Maybe in the future someone might purchase the licensing and continue on. But it sounds like you definitley have more important things to worry about right now. I have built 2 of your kits and it was a very fun process and learning experience. The quality of your kits far surpasses the quality of any other kits out there AFAIAC. I am very sad to see them go but I certainly understand your resons for doing so. Anyway, I just purchased a final 100w kit from you and I sincerly hope that things in your life work out in a way that is best for you.

George,

I can't begin to imagine the rollercoaster you've been riding, business is hard enough nowadays to see a profit, but your family as well :( I'd just like to stretch a big hand from across the pond and pat you on the back and say 'Thank you for what you have achieved, we've all benefited by the quality kit products and great service you've given us".
I wish you all the best for a relaxed Christmas with you 2 kids and a whole heap of good luck for 2011.
Take care of yourself as well George.

Regards
Nick

George, as you move forward be proud that you set the gold standard for kit amps, before and after the sale. You are a fighter and as one chapter closes, shall another begin. I wish you well in your personal, family and business lives.

Thanks for what you have given us

First I want to thanks George for probably the best customer service I have ever experienced by a business let alone an on-line business.

You built the best Marshalls Bar-none George and shared knowledge to thousands of us about ampbuilding taking away the mysticism of the process.

I am sad to hear the news of your personal life George I too have dealt with divorce in the last two years, it takes alot out of you as a person I understand. Time will heal the pain so hang in there for yours and your childrens sake!

I am the pround owner of three Metroamps and inumerable parts from Metro. I thank you for your sacrifices to try to bring the world of PLEXI's to us!

I can't say much more than everyone has already said. All my best wishes go out to you George!

Sincerely,
Mark(aka- Harddriver)

I haven't known what to say about this post. Not that I'm the regular customer I used to be -- I've gone to building chassis, panels, etc. from scratch so I'm not worried about that.
My biggest concern here is that the basis of the family problems came from putting us and our business with MetroAmp first. No matter how much you love your business, family is first, and if they weren't in this case that's kind of inexcusable (sorry VG) and probably didn't have to end up this way. I hope I'm off base here.

Otherwise........

To the man who helped us rock -- we salute you. :toast:

George,

I'm very sorry to hear this news, but as has already been said by many, you have to do what is right for you. I've been studying electrical engineering for the past 4 months, so I haven't been around here as often as I would like, but I hope this online community continues to thrive.

If you ever need contributions to help keep the forum running, I hope you'll let us know, as I think it's the least we can do to keep this thing of ours going.

I would also like to offer an annual contribution to keep the forums going if needed, I feel alot of us would be willing to participate to keep them up although I don't want to speak for anyone else.

I would hate to lose such a valuable resource that I have been a part of for 5+ years. I know alot of sitestake contributions like The Gear Page so let us know if you need help in this area George.

Thanks!

Best to you and yours, George. While I never talked to you, I can tell you that your amps changed the way I look at amplification. I have been playing for over 30 years, and the day I played your 100 watt plexi kit, I was amazed and puzzled that a kit amp could sound so good. In fact, I chose it over my beloved Marshall Jubilee for studio work.

You and your Metro team have without doubt left an indelible mark on everyone you have served, and speaking for myself, have delivered the best amp tone on the planet. I am happy you will be continuing with the Plexi Replicas.

Take care and here's to a mighty good 2011!!! :champ:

I absolutely agree!

Hey George or admin - go on and set a 'Donate' button on the website!
There are so many people, who've contributed of the knowledge and help of this forum.
I'm convinced, that there are also almost that many, who'd be glad to help now to keep this forum running!

And if it's only 15...20 US$ every few months, this would help to pay the site's cost and all that traffic here.

Exactly! With paypal and whatnot it'd be beyond easy to setup, either through the metro store or otherwise.
