CAE 3+ with SE mods PREAMP

Post by rockstah » Mon Nov 13, 2006 7:43 pm

I just scored one of these for the road - http://customaudioelectronics.com/3_SE_preamp.htm

i bought from the original owner whos had it since june for $1550 shipped

its bascially a blackface clean- marshall master volume and an added stage marshall - all thre circuits in one 2 space rack.
John Suhr said it would work great in my situation out on the road and recommened it saying that since i like to tweak so much i could tweak to taste. cant fucking wait - a real tube preamp. :D

I like it, has a great clean sound then just screams when turned up. To me its a mix of Fender and Marshall, kinda.

Here is the back photo.

 When you get a chance, post some clips of your new preamp. That's basically what I'm trying to build right now 8)

that is one reason i bought it - i made perfect sense to me but this way its done for me and as John said " you love to tweak so much you can tweak it to taste. " and you know after ive had it for a while i will be building my own. its agood investment all the way around for me.
