Anyone with Cubase 5?

Got a Tascam recording interface to use with a laptop for just recording guitar clips. Came with Cubase 5. Trouble setting the thing up. I can get it to record but there is no sound on playback through headphones. I can hear the amwp through the headphones, just not on playback. Not an easy program to deal with.

Check your input monitoring settings. You have it act like a tape machine where you hear the input any time the channel is record armed, or only when actually recording.

I can hear the amp(metro 12000kit) through the headphones and it shows the recorded wavelength on the screen. On playback there is nothing. Must be a playback setting? I don't have external monitoring speakers hooked up.

Cubase have monitor buttons on all channels. Its the orange one. You hear the input when its engaged and what you've recorded when its off.
