Live Audio/Visual Recording. What to use?

My Flip Video recorder is O.K. for doing good low quality but, I'm looking for a video/sound recorder that can give me the best representation for a live situation. I see/hear some of these homebrewed YouTube vids that absolutely kill.
What do you guys recommend.
I don't want to splice video with audio. Just shoot, plug & play.
Thanks

I know a few people that use these to record some live stuff that sounds pretty good.

http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/q3hd/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The q3 or the new q3hd could suit your needs. $250 for the q3, not bad at all.

Not bad at all, Ydna.
Sounds & looks good but after seeing this comparison and for the price break, I'll stick with my FlipVid.
The sound on the Zoom seemed to get compressed.
Mainly looking to record a Dimed Plexi or live concert situation. I've seen the Alice in Chains Live video with the Zoom Q3HD
and it seem to put in or pull out something in the sound which is mainly my concern.

I take it that there's not too much out there without spending some tall cash.
Any more ideas, guys ?

Nice! You won't regret it! Perfect for making youtube clips. Just set the mic level to low. Some extra lighting really helps the video quality too.
