I was looking at doing some recordings on my computer with my guitar. For the time being, I was looking at miking my Vox Valvetronix amp. I'd like to find out what mic was used in the below video.
And any recommendation on recording software and interface? I was looking at something that could clean up all the back ground noise and white noise in the signal as my amp is kinda noisy. And would like something that shows you a wave signal of what you recorded. As it makes it easier to see where to cut, copy, and paste if you need to do that.

I dont know about the freestuff, but cubase 5 essentials isnt that expensive. You can also upgrade it later on if you want more features.
If you own a mac, i think garageband is included.

I've been recommended Line 6 UX2 that has Podfarm and Abelton lite, and the Mbox with Pro Tools.
Do you need an external hard drive when recording? Someone said you need an external hard drive to do the recording. My laptop has Windows 7.

I'm gonna need something to hook up from the mic to the computer. Then I'd need the recording software. And maybe something that also has amp, cab, effetcs, sims incase I wanted to go direct. I'm willing to spend some money on something decent. I know they have some packages of around $200 for the Line 6 UX2 or Mbox with Protools. But I know there are others around in that price range.
