Most people have good luck with Asus or Intel boards.

When I built my box I had a smoking ASUS P4PE mobo that rocked for about a year, then went south. Ended up replacing with an Intel and it's been rock solid. Whenever I'm building, this site is one of my favs for info:

Tomshardware, directron, and newegg are helpful as well.
