Mic'ing a kick without a sound hole

Post by dcaster » Wed Apr 11, 2007 4:17 pm

How do you guys mic a kick drum without a sound hole. I just ran into this and it was not fun. It took a lot of tweeking and EQ'ing. That head on the front just "rattling" back and forth when the beater head is hit is a bitch to compensate for.

you can taker off the head and stick it in, or use 2 mics - on on each side.
