The first clip obviously isnt very good recording quality, but I swear I hear a certain 'vowell' or something to the mids that I hear in the second clip. The second clip is Jeremy's 'reamped' 12xxx build. Jnew made the clip I believe.

This is a sound I've heard Efraser and Kevin get as well (reamped). Its been a while since I even considered it, but 'maybe' Robin L. was right  . Maybe Ed's tone was a slaved scenario.

I think that Friedman confirmed that Ed didn't slave until after 1984. One of Ed unique tone characteristics is getting that vowel sound w/o slaving.

Yeah.......I agree in that, but, it just strikes me as odd/uncanny. Slaving would be much easier to be consistant with. I guess he didnt slave or else we would have heard of some of his amps inputs(being used as poweramps) being wired differently. There is no such conformation on that. And ALL of Eds amps have been serviced over the years, yet no word of a modification in ANY of them.
Jnews clip of Jeremys amp is REAL good
