That sounds really good. How loud was that? Is it slaved into the front of another amp or a power amp?

Thats it, you are there!

The amp is a little more burned in by now, but also, what were the last changes you made? Those chords are some of the sweetest I've heard. That is a 12xxx in the true form!

Yes sounds good Jeremy! The low E is nice and tight and the amp's got some good saturation.

Thanks man.. That means allot coming from you phil.
switched:
32 to a 100 in Phase inverter
100k on the 4 ohm which doesnt do justice till you put the 100 uf for the phase inverter cap.
took fat cap off
changed out mustards for philips style caps on the .68 spots
kept the filtering at 16 for the pre amps using those nos eries I had.
Changed to rifa for the screens.
also variaced yo 90 with two tubes pulled which is great cause a quad will last that much longer.
I THINK THAT IS IT. LOL
for the load its a resistor load. then a separate lineout box james built..

Again, really nice. Reminds me of Efrasers and Kev's tone alot. Definately hear that distinct vowel type inflection that is great and synonymous to reamping

What volume did you have the 100 watter (running at 50 watts

) at ?

The vol. on the head was at 6 and more and the head falls apart. Its perfect at that vol with the variac at 90 and the built in variac switch on the low setting. Lol

Cool ! So you have a dual tap PT, and your running the lower voltage tap of it, via the three way standby switch (virtual variac). That along with the variac slightly taking it down a hair.. So what did your actual plate voltage end up being ? You could have just ran the high tap and lowered everything just a tad more, via the variac, right.

At this point you could even dial in a little more bass or bring in a little of the normal channel a bit (without jumping you still get a little roundness added with that knob). Keep your mitts out of that amp now

, it's all about how you run it: guitars, pickups, V1 NOS 12ax7's, cable lengths or even try a variac between the head and the cab, it adds some interesting hair! Great job again, maybe you will inspire Tone Slinger and others to get building again!

Love these amps!
