What's this thingy?

Post by rgorke » Mon Jan 20, 2014 8:55 pm

Taped on the cabinet behind Ed. It looks like maybe an antenna for the Schaffer wireless system? :what:

Again, I know these were purported to be "staged" but why go to all the lengths of micing cabs, etc for just a few photos. My guess is that all the trash, etc was "staged" and they were rehearsing for tour or working on some tunes or something like that. (Oh, and that MXR 6 band there too. :hide: )

You can see the square "pack" turned 90 degrees on it's side. with antennas coming out, pointing in two directions...

Seems like the transmitter antennas are different? Meaning, they stick out in a different direction.

certainly looks like an old receiver for a wireless. boys boys boys... are we really recording our album using a wireless? :palm:  kind of shocking if so - but it looks like it. musta been part of the signature sound.

ts - what KISS album was it? can you tell? coulda been a demo for Christine Sixteen? the similarities between Jamie's Crying and Christine Sixteen are... a coincidence? Or is this something that had it roots in the time Gene spent with VH prior to VH I?

Off topic - but i wonder if anyone has any wild conjecture about that...
