You have a lot of fire in your playing! Pickup? My guess is a MM1300...

Thanks guys ! That was Metro 12xxx with pretty much a straight up Mod5 spec. Had the 3 way standby (virtual Variac) on the low voltage tap. Front panel volumes all the way up (except the bass,on 2) with the PPIMV (in one of the speaker jacks on the back) set real low.Old beat up Jcm 800 slant with 6402 coned greenbacks. Had a MXR reissue '74 Phase 90 in the front. Hard Ash Warmoth strat with floyd Rose. The humbucker is a trem spaced Duncan 'Custom Custom'.
That amp should be arriving to its new home (a fellow forum member) in Canada by tommorow. I'll miss it .

I messed around alot with that v2 bypass cap. Leaving that 820 unbypassed was the ticket for this amp. I currently am without a 'rock' amp. I have 3 little solid state combo's and a Music Man Hd-130 reverb top, which is a great amp, only not for Rock'n'Roll.

Nicely done. Interesting about the Custom Custom. Never really liked that PU and just a slight suspicion that the clip would have had a little more bite with an AlNiCo V type or DSD, (MM). Maybe my ears and/or brain think soft & limp when that PU comes to mind. AlNiCo II's just don't ever seem to cut it with higher wound PU's or I'm just completely full of SHW#$%T. But that clip sounded really good. 8)

I hope you are just clearing the decks for your next builds?!?! :what: The clip was pretty epic and did not sound like a mod5 to me at first. I confess that all I've been playing lately is my mod5 12xxx, I just don't want to make any enamies in my new neighborhood. Yeah, the highest I went at V2 was a 10uf over the .68, as I can hear in your clip, keeping that cap small or not there at all, is the best way to keep the low E aggressive. Is that amp heading for Halifax by any chance?

Really? Anyone using a 330uF on their V2? Seems to work pretty good for me. In fact, I have to have it for that awesome low end. :what:

Toneslinger is sending me an amp! Sweet.

Good playing too. That mod 5 works with the 6402 cones for sure.

Hey, if it is 11 degrees down here in Virginia I can only imagine what it is like up there, we should all send you something to keep your spirits warm.
