Yeah it does sound very tight, I was hoping for a little more sag. Maybe it's time to get a variac.
Tone Slinger wrote:So which 'variation' of the mod v did you go with ?
Whats the v2 bypass cap (.68uf)?
You using the .1 pi caps or the .o22's ? Sounds like the .022's.
I 'HEAR' the distinct 'Mod v' tone in your clip. IMO, you are the ONLY person, so far, who has gotten that tone who DIDNT get Mark to perform the mod.
Sounds good bro !
I pretty much followed the directions on the "VH style mods" thread.
10k v1a
100pf bright ch mix cap
.022uf v1b bypass cap
25uf v2a cathode cap
I am using .1uf phase inverter caps

*please say stock!*
Haha the Squire bullet came with 3 single coils but I changed out the pickguard with one from an old Hohner ST Lead pawn shop guitar. It has a humbucker w/coil tap and two single coils. I have no Idea who made the pickup and what the specs are.

There are directions in the first sticky of the EVH section. It's only a few component changes
efraser68 wrote:Hell yes, nice job Mike, what was the MV set to on the clip and the rest of the eq?

The PPIMV was at like .75 and everything else was on 10. It was too late at night to turn it up.
