I tried turning the amp up a little bit more and backed the mic off to balance the recording levels.
I think it turned out OK.....

Did you change anything from this clip?
http://forum.metroamp.com/viewtopic.php ... 15#p415293" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This latest clip seems much more tight and a step away from brownness/sag, etc. it has a more clean gain. I suppose tighter is the right word. You previous clips had that, "the notes are gonna fall apart any second now" feel, yet they don't fall apart. The new clip feels very solid, almost too much.
Not sure if that makes any sense
Still sounds good, I like the others better.

More of a scooped tone.
I backed them off and leaned harder on vol 1.
The sound felt great in my hands so I tried to capture that.
Thanks for checking it out.
In this clip I dimed the middle and seem's to get more brown that way.
oh, and my middle pot is modified in this JMP 50w.

Hi Michael,
sounds good!
Are you using V1a and V1b in cascade mode (2204) or in parallel mode (1987) ?
Regards
Robert

I'm using a 1987 circuit split cathode V1a 220uF/820r,V1b .68uF/820r .
I had ditched a couple of my YT clips in this thread that failed tone wise.

but out of all of them I think this one's a keeper.

Yeah, this sounds much better. I wouldn't "ditch" the clips that don't sound the way you like them, I have often gone back and listened to clips to verify what certain changes sound like with my amp.
Always good to have a reference point.

Sorry I deleted some of the clips, some of them where epic fails.

but I do know what you're saying.
