Well, I have to admit that as much as the echo is essential for this song, I left it out. I have two broken Echoplexes and a Danelectro echo that just needs a new battery. I'm too lazy to switch out the battery in the Dan' so I guess the future is not so bright for the Echoplexes (i'm using one to prop up my wife's desk what is wrong with me!).

I tried at least 4 vaues: 760, 820, 1k and 2.7k... 1k sounds just right in my amp... 820 on V2A

I probably won't change that value because the 820R value is part of this vintage amps spec. What I did try was switching the NFB tap from the speaker jack (stock for this amp) to the 16ohm. It made the tone angrier and made the B and high E string much less brittle, but the sustain and compression was not really there. Maybe into an unattenuated head with the variac way down it might smooth things out a bit, but for this amp it took things further away from the tone I tend to lean towards for VH (a true VH tone?, I make no claimes). I don't know how Ralle's tone is not dry as a bone with his speck, perhaps the Marshall Power Brake add's some compression.

I see the raw cabs, the bomb of course, the vacated Michael Anthony Bass in the back ground and I got a feeling. A feeling , cause we need some more cow bell here. I propose this , Mike left the room , Dave took a call , and it was a sneak . Phil stepped out of his pink Jumpsuit , jumped past the pick axe and figured he could sneak a lick or two for fun. He realized he did not have a chord long enough. It was only a few feet long. Just plugged in real quick and was looking over his shoulder while the I phone rolled. We caught that raw aluminum stock too for an amp chassis Phil , Its just a sign of things to come. Paid by Puma too Were gonna get EVH raw cabs , aluminum chassis and a possible reunion sponsored by Puma. Ed your so sly. Sounding amazing though. What was that reflecting off your neck pickup? Thought I saw stuff , nice. How could you kept this wing of 5150 so secret so long? Tonehounds await....
