hmmm... i just read this, seconds after purchasing a pair on the tubedepot site. please say something to make me feel better. thank you.dirtycooter wrote:I heard they had issues in the opening runs of the EH6C's. Which is shitty because this is a definite good tube to be pumpin out these days when there is nothing else filling the void. Hopefully they addressed and took care of underlying problems.
I know when I used to work back in the car factory stuff years ago-
a new model run and change of manufacturing always presented with unforeseen bugs to work out early on and then later ran smooth as silk before they would recreate another new design and it would start all over again. I think that could be the same with many manufactured things

I had some of those early ones way back. They took a while for the tubes do settle in with biases floating all over the place the first few days. They did not like to be run over 430v. I've had no problems with the newer production. I think there are a couple guys here who run theirs above 460v with no problems. They are great tubes, buy a couple quads just to have on hand in case Putin et al shuts down the factory. Here is an interesting read:

The "marshall forum" also had some shitty thread too but that was an older dated thread.
Amazing how different that tribe is over there. Some touting as well these were not the tube for VH-now thats funny shit right there.
And..... that isn't exactly the "metro forum" stature of excellence

Re: EH or JJ 6ca7's???
EH-6CA7's hands down (at least for me). I've built many 100 "Plexi's" using these tubes. Also, compared them to my Sylvania 6CA7's and they are very close! As a matter of fact, I don't even look for real Sylvania anymore. I'm totally happy with the Electro Harmonics! Lastly, as far as reliability, I've purchased a few dozen over the years and had only one fail on me....I run them at approximately 440 volts.
I think you'll be happy with them. Good luck.
