Love these amps!

I agree. Not changing a thing. I do need to add the metal panel at the bottom of my amp. That the only thing happening inside the amp. Lol
I hope people build more amps cause these amps rule.
I know I am gonna save and build another

Strat, yep I definately am in the process of trying to get another build going
Parts for a 50 watter is still being compiled. I know that it isnt a 12xxx, but hopefully I can get a similar flavor. If not, then the next build just may end up being another 12xxx.

Just bought a blue 80s mxr 6 band for 59.99. Stoked to put it infront of this amp. Im gonna build a separate in/ off switch for live use so i dont kill people with noise.

Jeremy, do you have an old Phase 90 yet, those are cool too! An old refurbished Echoplex is great, that airiness from the tape echo is so nice.

Well done.

I put in a 3PDT switch and an LED (super bright pink one) in mine. Still noisy but I can switch it on and off. Also with the switch I had to put a DC plug since the switch takes up the space for the battery.

Yes indeed. My Echoplex is always on. They can be noisy too but switching out some caps and even new pots makes a huge difference. They are also a blast to play with clean tones.

Rgorke, you modded your pedal or made a separate switcher? For the mxr 6 band?
Phil, I have a exact copy of the ep3 preamp part in a pedal thats to james and robert. As far as the phase 90s go i have a evh copy. Not sure if that is close or not.

Yep, modded the pedal. Had to drill a couple holes in the case, one for the switch, one for the DC jack. So now it is "true bypass" when it is off. I previously had it in a loop with a true bypass switcher but modding the pedal ultimately seemed more efficient. And, I don't have to worry about batteries.

It already has the dc jack for power. Did the looper sounds ok or does the switch inside the pedal sound better? I want to use this pedal live. Good info guys..

I did notice that, although they do have an xlr connecter further down on that side. There worth a try, worked a treat with my amp dimed, there's no way Ed used the 6 band without some sort of noise gate.
Koh Hasebe who took the b&w pics backstage on the Japan tour 'may' have taken the pics during set up before the gate was put in the chain? either way if it was never used then why have it? I also think that the photographer took these as snap shots for reference to Ed's set up as the 6 band appears in two different locations and I can't see him using two?

I have that pedal too, might be worth a try again. I don't know, I just tried the 6-band again and it just pushes the tone into Dimebag territory and the noise was really bad this time. Got to get back to working on this VHI tone thing.
