Seeing as multiples are allowed here is more of my clip without the reverb added...everything remains the same...

A little low pass filter to knock off a little highs and a high pass that rolled the bass off a hair. The original clip had no eq.

Re: The Official RWTD ISO VS. YOUR CLIP thread-CLIPS ONLY!!!
This sounds like ass...I'm using my Sennheiser MD420 which everyone says is all wrong. I know I need an SM57, but I'm broke. And of course I don't have a clue about mic placement...I'm just lucky the levels came out OK without clipping. Just a quick shot at it with my Destroyer and Super 70s through my Mod 5 Marshall combo...no EQ, nothing. Just ass.

Here is another one with the solo rhythm, the Celestion clip followed by my puny attempt at both. The DSD is starting to win...these Super 70s seem to lack that "Je ne sais quois" just like the SD '59s.

Here is Thorny's clip a/b'd with Ed RWTD Celestion Track
This has the bump at 70hz and the dip at 500. Also Low passed at 7300.
no other tricks or gimmics
I think it is spot on. if anything is off at all it is tuning on that damn b-string

Here is just my clip (without the Ed track) again with some reverb...I don't hate it as much, but it is still not quite there:

Here's my try out... maybe a little hiss in the background noice, but that's due to low recording level... done very late at night...
Oh, I never managed to download the iso track, so this is just me...

Re: The Official RWTD ISO VS. YOUR CLIP thread-CLIPS ONLY!!!
Here is my submission trying to hone in on the RWTD JBL clip - I blend my clip in as Ed fades out
gear used -
les paul copy with 11.79 k ceramic pickup >Ep-PRE set at 2 o'clock>real Ep-3 >into
early 1982 JCM 800 2 input 50 watt amp
settings-
High input
Presence -6
Bass-3.5
Middle-4
Treble-6.5
Master-6.8
Preamp - 5.5 (after this it turns to 80's Dokken/ Ratt tone)
into Laney 4x12 with wrong speakers for VH > signal taped into a Behringer GI 100 direct box w/ speaker simulator >
into a Behringer 6 channel mixer 9 (XENYX) for mic preamp > into Mackie Tracktion recording on Dell laptop.
massive dig in factor , with precise tuning and hard pressure on the b-string or the chords just dont cut it.
such as simple riff but, a real bitch to get even close to ED.

Re: The Official RWTD ISO VS. YOUR CLIP thread-CLIPS ONLY!!!
Reviving an old thread with a new contribution. Ed is on the right, I am on the left (not too hard to tell). I am using a track that I created combining both the JBL and Celestion clips and repeated it. I also started with just the echoplex, then after a few, I clicked on the MXR 6 band, then off again then on. Frankly I don't remember exactly how many I left it on for.
