Things I look for in an EVH cab?
5/8" 11 ply plywood walls, center internal sound post [some cabs don't have this],
solid metal airtight handles, particle board back, airtight caster sockets that are air tight even with the casters removed, removeable speaker baffle, basketweave type cloth.
Mojave had these casters right [they used really nice airtight sockets!] and the handles-but they have "no center sound post" which results in woofiness in the low end and and real 3/4" plywood sides that don't resonate and breath/flex as well as the thinner 5/8" stuff does. Mojave is a great cab spec wise and even has a real ply back but I redid my PV5150 cabs and they actually souund way better now than the Mojave ever did-not to mention I really don't like h30's for VH tone although some guys have gotten good VH tone with them I feel the best tones are the 25watter clips here.
My personal preference-small real basketweave and any type of 25watt greenback style speaker is OK but we all have our own favorites and know what is rated best. You're close as long as you have a 75hz 25watter in there in my opinion and the rest is more or less splitting hairs.
I made special metal plates for the caster cups, jack hole plates, and handle holes out of 3/8" steel painted wrinkle black in a machine shop for my 5150 cabs, threw out the rattle ass casters they have and replaced them with bolted-in rubber feet in place of the casters same holes, re-covered the grills with small cane weave from Mojo-pain in the ass here!-and now I have two identical basket weave airtight 5150 cabs with no obscene rattling noises.
One has greenbacks and the other still has sheffield's still and for a FX side reasons it works great!
The 5150 logo's were moved from the bottom right corners and placed in the center and I just tossed the Peavey logos.
Other than the hardware alone being different they are identical to any 80's-to present Marshall 1960 cab in build, size, etc. Actually better since the rounded edge of the Marshall's where they router in the radius on the edges removes more wood and structure from the finger joints than the non-radiused PV5150 does-there is more meat in the corners on the 5150 technically.
They have the same dimensions, 5/8" OR 15mm plywood, only the back panels are particle board, and have a nice beefy 3/4" or 1" thick plywood speaker mounting baffle.
In the end-its a Marshall cab copy period with crappy cheap hardware-in which I replaced the best way possible.
Plus I scarfed these "thought to be junk PV5150 cabs" dirt fricken cheap in "mint condition"!

Its just a box built a certain way basically.
I do wonder about the back panel at times but feel comfortable with the old thread here saying particle board backs gave a tighter sound than ply.
Ed's new EVH cabs are built EXACTLY how they should've been back in the PV days and actually come with everything I look for plus have pretty fairly decent speakers from what everyone has said here. The big EVH logo is a little goofy though.
They have the good metal hardware, right wall thickness, rubber feet, etc etc.
The only thing I seen maybe is if the casters are removed they might be the kind that leak air adn in turn leaving the cab not completely air-tight.
I feel they are priced about right since when you look at any Marshall greenback cab with plastic hardware those are $999.00 and for $100 more you can get all metal hardware to boot as well as rubber feet all ready to go.
Don't know about the back panels though and if they are ply or particle?
