your better off just buying the amp from dave friedman.he designed the amp...he can build you a plexi.

Excuse me, but was this meant for me? Could I buy a ready to go modified amp from you? Would it be a Metro or something else?

Just when we thought the unthinkable... Besides the fact that it is basically the VH1 sound spot on the playing was about the best anyone's ever played that tune that I've heard. One key ingredient missing though is the flanger. How could you forget that.....

Late to this parade, but WOW! Congrats Marshall Maniac and Ralle (and MM's amp tech friend). Sick, sick, sick tone, great stuff, as has been duly noted. Not sure if I could go to work if I had that tone at home.... 8)

Re: the A5 vs. A2 debate, that's obviously an A5 trying to be an A2!
At it awhile, still learnin'

hopefully this isn't turning into a marketplace for readi-made EVH amps. how boring would that be? i'd rather hang out with a bunch of D-I-Y-ers missing the tone by a country mile than to settle in to "hey just buy this magic box. but don't open it and SNAKES ALIVE don't tell us what's in it."

what's in that amp man?

Yeah really, spill the beans!

I'm thinking "Snakes Alive" would be a great band name. Or at least a cool "seat of your pants" blistering guitar solo.

Ok guys...

Here is some inside pics from the modded Powerbrake.

About the 71 Marshall: I really need help from Ralle here.
I honesty can´t explain whats done with it by myself.

About the Reissue Marshall:
I will never shot you any inside pics from this one.
Tommy has an ongoing project in the preamp section off
this amp..and it´s far from finished.
Since I only used the poweramp section of this amp in
the clip...the preamp stuff has no importens to the sound at all.
I have provide you all the information I know of about this amp
and I think it was God Guest that helped me with some detailinfo
about the wireing of the FXloop.

A pic of that '71's guts would explain a whole heap of things.

speaking for myself - if i post a clip and people are interested in the tone i'm getting, i post a top to bottom run down of all the key components. because this site is about amp building and this forum is about building amps that will achieve the VH sound.

if i post a clip, and people think i nailed something, i am on here right away giving the complete rundown. because THAT is what this site is about for me.

anything short of a complete rundown of what i am using in a clip that gets everyone's interest, would put me into a category of someone who is just waving their dick around.

until we have a component list and another clip where we can hear the amp in other applications - noodling etc, i consider this thread to be self-serving slap in the face to everybody in this community who have openly shared EVERYTHING they have done in order that the next guy can take it and run with it however he pleases.

otherwise let's just post clips of the album and pictures from fanzines.

i find this thread to be pointless.

that's my little opinion. carry on!
