330uf/25V BC bypass caps from George, how is polarity marked

Post by harddriver » Mon Dec 04, 2006 6:45 pm

Hey guys,

I picked up some of those blue BC 330uf/25V electrolyitcs from george to use as bypass caps.

There is one end of the cap that has a single black stripe on it close to the end. Is this the negative side of the cap?

There is a + almost midway on the cap body.

He has pics is the store.

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark that would means the single stripe indicates negative side then. Thanks so much I am getting closer to firing up my 72 with the type II master.

Mark I think I got the my mind around everything.

The ground wire from the shielded wire is grounded to the pot housing backside or the left lug looking at the pot backside? The drawing looks like it is connected to the lug that is coming in from the bias supply just how the lines cross on the drawing.

I would guess the pot housing correct for the shielded ground.

Thanks much!

Yeah I got it, finally! sometimes I look at something too much.

SHIELDED CABLE GROUND WIRE GROUNDED TO THE LEFT SIDE POT LUG COMING WHICH IS BEING FED BIAS SUPPLY VOLTAGE.

Larry confirmed it as I looked at your pics 1 more time.

BIG THANKS!

Mark
