What are the differences between the 2 and what is a good eq for the early EVH tone....just trying to experiment.

Hey Marco, I'm not exactly sure about the differences, just that parametric has a broader range that includes many more bands that arent very noticable on guitar. the bands on the graphic are more usable with guitar. Eddie used Boss 10 band graphic and Mxr 6 band graphic at different times early on I think. Mxr has some real good one's out now that I'm gonna try out.

Thanks...I was really looking at the MXR 6-band....it looks cool. I tried an old 6-band MXR and it was great.
Thanks

Hmmm...I've been using the TC Elctronic Parametic EQ (pedal) for years and really like it! It's not noisy (in fact NO extra noise) and a great tone shaper.Very subtile, not as in your face as let's say the Boss GE-7.
Only problem is: they are VERY hard to find these days...

I have two Blue MXR 6 bands in almost cherry condition from the 80's. I have two Boss GE-10's.

The GE-10's are my favorite by far. Both are very warm EQ's though.

The Boss GE-7 works but leaves me wanting more...it is just not as warm sounding.

I am going to put my 2 Blue MXR 6-bands on Fleabay because I need to pay for a guitar I am getting. 60 bucks each plus 8 bucks shipping anywhere in the states if anyone wants one.

just bought an mxr 10 band, miss my old boss 10 those were really quiet. the 6 bands were notoriously noisy. they may have improved their specs since the days of yor.
