i have found all of them cause coloration of the amp.master volume mods,slaving,attenuation.i like the slaving the best.i feel it has the least coloration.just my opinion!

You're probably right. Do you use an ordinary amp as slave or do you use an amp built specificly for slaving?

i have a tube amp that im using wright now,but its not what im happy with.im going to get a small 15 watt soild state amp from these guys!

i do have a 30 watt solid state amp i bought from tris at songworks,gut it is way to loud and colors the sound a tad bit!

You see, that's exactly my problem... I've NEVER heard an amp with that mod that didn't have it's tone changed - and I don't want to change the tone of this amp!!!!!!!!!! In the room it sounds so good it's unreal - so why would I change anything?

Well, I can't argue with your tone, but don't you find the amp cranked to be a little loud? I mean painfully and impractically LOUD? Do you not think the hotplate changes the tone also? I don't mean to argue with you, but most people have to deal with the ridiculous volume of these beasts somehow. The question, I guess, is which way is best.

i think the vol mod as well as the attenuator color the sound the most.

you're right! But since it does sound great this way, I don't want to change it and start all over again :wink: It took quite some time to arrive at this result.
