I'd say the yellow box cap was stock. My '68 and others in that serial range have them.

My amp has an 820 cathode resistor. I think his did too. Let me check.

Did evh amp have a 50k mid pot??

George, were you able to hear/play through the amp? If so, how do you think it sounded?

I played through the Metro-Friedman last year at the amp show and it sounded glorious.

I think Georges 12000 series is 99% there. if not 100%.

Rest is in the fingers.

Remember how Mark ( Rockstah) made all his amps sound?

George,

Did the 50k mid pot have red solder joints? Also are you saying the 50k mid pot measured higher than 50k?

While were throwing questions out....I'll add these to the queue:
George (or Dave) do you think the mid pot was original to the amp (identified by mfg and/or a date code)? In addition, was this potentiometer marked/labeled as 50K, or was it marked as a lower value but has drifted up to 50K?
