Thanks, but I'm just lucky to have the opportunity to play it! This amp is the real deal, a 68 plexi with the most important original parts still working. The amp had an old mod from the late 70's or early 80's which was some sort of cascade hybrid. I need to go through my notes to recreate a schematic and document what the mod was because it sounded pretty good. At any rate we restored the amp to it's original 12xxx layout with help from the great community here. This amp was on some famous records I've been told and was used by Allan Holdsworth way back. What ever slight changes I make to certain values, the amp still retains it's unique voice. I think it is the irons! My recordings do a disservice to this amp, but you can hear what it can do.

Strat78, it is indeed a incredible sounding marshall.
that is the tone i have been after but at a low volume for practice, that why i asked how loud it was.
Those amps were meant to be played loud so i am asking for a lot to expect a 12xxx to sound that awesome at real low levels.

+1, especially on the chord sustain. 1st clip is open and raw, 2nd clip growls hard but not as edgy and raw. Problem is that the playing is so fuckin good that I'd be drooling over it no matter what. Quit playing so damn good so I can nitpick the tone.
Interpretation?! I thought I was playing it right!
