I know there is a thread.... someplace...... where everyone was building load box devices with resistors.
I have searched and searched and applied filter after filter. This is really chafing my nuts

.
Anyone got a link??? Or what was the load impedance decided on that sounded best??

Thanks but thats not the one I was thinkin of.
There was a thread where everyone was building dummy loads and talkin about the differences between different Ohm resistors like 8-16-20 ohm reistance.
Maybe this was back when rockstah was still with us as I believed he was in there with his homemade contraption addin commentary.
Efraser is usin that 16ohm hotplate. I am hopin my 4 16ohm resistors wired series/parallel sounds as good as the hotplate he is using. They should be here sometime next week and I am in anxiety hyper mode gettin all worked up like a bear with an itchy touch hole
I just need the right static simple resistive load to attempt something like the clips like Blix did with his 16ohm stick of dynamite resistor into his matrix poweramp and reamped.
Seems there was talk of which ohm load sounds best. As there were differences on tonal results.

I have the 8-ohm Hotplate which works good, but I'm only using it with a 30-watt Marshall Artist combo (need to finish my Metro build that's been on the bench for so long). It sounds good for lowering volume levels if you use the EQ tweak switches. I did buy a David Bray LO-1 line out box this week, so I can try setting the Hotplate on "Load" and use the Bray for feed to effects like others are doing... Can't wait to give it a try...

Hmmmm.... exactly my plan as well. But the consensus on the correct or decent sounding load and on which tap was a thread in itself I coulda swore
Maybe it got jumbled in the site crash?
When that happened it was like a crack addict gettin the candy taken away

What about the 50 page "Slaving a Plexi Project" thread that is a sticky?

Thanks. I got it and its all together now temporarily. Works great but heat is a concern but not bad.
